Mercy Chefs was certified in August 2006 by the
IRS as a tax exempt public charity under section
501 (c) (3) of the federal tax code. We operate
as a tax deductible non-profit, faith based, public
charity committed to the primary purpose of
serving high quality professionally prepared
meals in disasters and national emergencies with
the purpose of showing the love of Jesus Christ
through Christian compassion and hospitality to
victims, first responders and volunteers.
Mercy Chefs will:
- Show the love of Jesus Christ through Christian compassion and hospitality
- Serve victims, first responders and volunteers
- Acquire efficient mobile kitchen equipment and resources
- Obtain necessary support equipment
- Prepare for multiple location rapid response capability
- Train church based volunteer groups in support of this mission
- Develop strategic alliances with supporting organizations
- Establish partnerships with faith based disaster relief agencies
- Engage Christian hospitality industry professionals as Mercy Chefs
- Be governed by a board of directors
- Directed by an advisory Committee
- Exemplify Christian compassion and mercy while conforming to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
